Man, I 100% understand frustrations about Wally’s general absence in S2, but I’ve never been able to understand the idea that they slighted him by having him retire or making it clear that he’s slower than Bart and Barry. BOTH OF THOSE THINGS ARE INCREDIBLE TO ME.

By the time the end of season two rolled around, I don’t want to say I wasn’t enjoying episodes because OF COURSE I ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE, but I spent so much time fretting over WHERE THE FUCK WAS WALLY???? and Sarah can attest to that because as soon as every episode ended I’d be whining about how much I missed him, but anyone who thinks that Wally didn’t play an important role, a CRUCIAL role is flat out nuts in my opinion and just because he wasn’t on screen doesn’t mean he wasn’t present in every other way possible. Oh my god the whole fucking thing fell to pieces until he showed up again and GOD I AM GETTING SO EMOTIONAL ABOUT THIS. Ugh, come at me if you don’t think his story was perfect. COME. AT. ME.

“Fans of the first film really wanted to find out what happened to Peggy afterwards, so Marvel are also making a short film, which is basically ‘What Peggy Did Next’, which will be shown at Comic-Con and be on the DVD extras of the second film (Captain America: The Winter Soldier). So as well as doing a bit in the new film, I’ve got a whole new spin-off short film. It has been great to be back in training with the stunt coordinators, kicking some butt again.”

My mom’s best friend gave me the nickname torigates when I was like four or five years old after these gates, and it’s literally been my only internet pseudonym for the entire time I’ve been on the internet (which is going back to about 1998 or so. Once, when I told this story a friend expressed that she was saddened to learn that my real name wasn’t Tori Gates. Nope, named after these beauties!

When I went over to my parents’ house on Sunday, my mom was looking through a box of old mother’s day cards that she had saved complete with all our frankly pretty terrible and hilarious artwork, and I had this moment of weird clarity where we were all laughing over how my sister couldn’t keep her b’s and d’s straight for a super long time, and how my brother was always super terrible at art, and how I addressed one of the cards to “Mommy Smith” (…..in case there was another mom? that I might be addressing instead? yeah, idk), and I was like SHIT. Mom had to pretend to seriously enjoy and cherish these crappy cards and really love them and praise us or whatever and probably some of that was genuine but I bet a lot of it wasn’t and like GOOD JOB MOM! thanks for that!

and then it made me remember this one time, I don’t remember what I was doing, but probably something super annoying and getting on my mom’s last nerve and she just SNAPPED at me to SHUT UP and I remember bursting into tears and my mom immediately being SUPER apologetic about the whole thing and about how she shouldn’t have done that, but now that I’m looking back on it, I’m sure she did feel bad and wish she hadn’t snapped and everything, but on the other hand it must have been so satisfying.
